MEET THE BOARD

Sébastien Long, President

Sébastien is Founder & CEO of Lodgeur in Houston, operating 133 furnished rentals and 12,500+ guest stays since 2019. A former banker who launched Sonder’s UK business, he researched STR pricing/design at Cambridge and is an active voice in Houston’s STR ordinance process.

Corey Reinaker, Vice President

A founding member of the Plano Short-Term Rental Alliance, Corey served on the city’s STR Task Force and six TIRZ board terms. He and his wife have hosted since 2017 (two listings, 4.96 rating). Corey is a Texas-licensed architect and runs Corey Reinaker Architect LLC.

Patrick Block, Treasurer

Patrick has hosted since 2019, earning 2,100+ reviews (4.94) and multiple Guest Favorite listings. He served as Treasurer and board member of the Dallas Short-Term Rental Alliance and is active in the legal challenge to Dallas’s STR ban.

Chris Wren, Director (At-Large)

Chris owns Wren Nest Management in Galveston, a short-term rental company focused on hands-on hospitality. With 30+ years in hospitality, he serves as president of the Short-Term Rental Owners Association of Galveston (STROAG), represents local hosts on the city’s Ad Hoc STR Committee, and uses his Certified Tourism Ambassador training to promote fair regulation and strong community partnerships.

Blake Anthony Carter, Director (At-Large)

Blake leads Cribs Consulting in Austin. He oversees 100+ managed properties, owns a boutique hotel in Canyon Lake, and has guided 200+ STR investors. A frequent speaker and advocate for responsible growth, he’s recognized for a practical, community-minded approach.

What do my dues fund?

Statewide advocacy, compliance resources, communications, and support for local chapters (25% of dues).

Is TXSTRA a nonprofit?

We are a 501(c)(6) trade association. Dues are generally deductible as a business expense (not a charitable donation). Consult your tax advisor.

How are local chapters funded?

Chapters receive 25% of member dues to support local organizing and events.

do you endorse candidates?

TXSTRA keeps a strict separation between the association and any PAC activity, per Texas Ethics Commission and IRS rules.

How do you handle emergencies in Texas?

We coordinate with local leaders and highlight hosts who help house responders and evacuees, while sharing practical resources for safe, responsible operation.
